Become a Guardian Family

Our Guardian Home Program allows select families to welcome one of our breeding dogs into their home as a beloved family pet while helping us continue the Heartfelt Goldendoodles breeding program.

Instead of our breeding dogs living together in a traditional kennel environment, our guardian dogs get something we believe is incredibly important—a family of their very own.

They live with their guardian families full-time, receiving all the love, attention, adventures, couch cuddles, and everyday family experiences every dog deserves.

In return, the dog remains part of the Heartfelt breeding program for an agreed-upon period of time.

Once their breeding responsibilities are complete, they retire from our program and remain permanently with the family they've always known and loved.

A Guardian Home provides a permanent, loving home for one of our breeding dogs.

Your Heartfelt dog lives with you as your family pet. You'll be responsible for their everyday care, training, grooming, exercise, and lots of love.

Heartfelt Goldendoodles retains breeding rights during the dog's time in our program, as outlined in the Guardian Home Agreement.

For females, this means returning to Heartfelt for breeding and later for the birth and raising of her puppies. For males, availability may occasionally be required for breeding appointments.

Specific breeding expectations, timelines, responsibilities, and ownership terms are explained before placement and included in your Guardian Home Agreement.

Our Guardian Home Program allows us to thoughtfully continue our breeding program without asking our dogs to sacrifice life as cherished family pets.

We want our dogs sleeping in homes, playing with their families, going on adventures, and experiencing everyday life.

Guardian homes allow us to continue working toward the future of Heartfelt while giving each dog the individual attention and family environment we want for them.

It's truly a partnership between Heartfelt and some very special families.

Our guardian families become an important part of the Heartfelt family, so we carefully choose homes that are prepared for the commitment.

A great guardian family should:

• Provide a safe, stable, loving home
• Have reliable transportation
• Be willing to maintain regular communication with Heartfelt
• Provide appropriate exercise, training, socialization, grooming, and routine veterinary care
• Keep the dog at a healthy weight and in good physical condition
• Follow the requirements outlined in our Guardian Home Agreement
• Be available when the dog is needed for breeding-related appointments
• Live within our required travel area
• Understand that breeding schedules can occasionally require flexibility

Most importantly, we're looking for families who want one of our dogs because they genuinely want to make that dog part of their family.

Guardian families receive the opportunity to welcome a Heartfelt breeding dog into their family under the terms of our Guardian Home Program.

Because this arrangement is different from purchasing one of our puppies as a traditional pet, costs, responsibilities, and financial arrangements are explained before placement and clearly outlined in the Guardian Home Agreement.

There should never be surprises. We want prospective guardian families to fully understand the commitment before deciding whether the program is right for them.

Retirement is one of the best parts of our Guardian Home Program.

Once your dog's breeding responsibilities with Heartfelt have been completed, they retire from our breeding program.

At that point, any remaining ownership requirements are completed according to the Guardian Home Agreement, and your dog gets to continue doing exactly what they've been doing all along:

Living life with the family they love.

Being a guardian can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but it isn't the right arrangement for every family.

There will be times when your dog needs to be away from home for breeding-related purposes, and guardian families need to be comfortable communicating and coordinating with us throughout the dog's time in our program.
